Meet Your Instructor

Maria Soriano, M.Ed., SHRM-CP
Founder & CEO, Courage Creatives

Maria is an educator, success coach, certified HR professional, and clinical mental health counselor-in-training. She helps people navigate change, advance their careers, and build success without burning themselves out along the way.

She's taught as part-time faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas since 2016. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Business, a graduate degree in Education, and is currently completing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNLV, alongside a Mind-Body Science certificate from Harvard Medical School.

Maria spent years in the trenches of the Human Resources field as a: former HR Manager for a local Nevada municipality, former Communications Chair of the Public Sector HR Association Nevada Chapter, top multi-field recruiter, certified HR professional by the Society for Human Resources Management, and founder of her own HR recruitment firm. This background is why her coaching is beyond theoretical — as a success coach and career matchmaker, she's helped thousands of people land new roles, pivot careers, negotiate stronger offers, and grow into more effective leaders.

Maria is also a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling, the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association, Society for Human Resources Management, and Public Sector Human Resources Association. In 2026, she was part of UNLV's first-place master's team in the American Counseling Association's Graduate Student Ethics Competition as well as co-presented poster presentations with UNLV colleagues at the recently held American Counseling Association Conference in Columbus, OH and the Korean Counseling Association Conference in Seoul, South Korea.
